The following sections provide the instructions for starting the utility programs.

Starting the Configuration/Setup Utility program

Configuration/Setup is a menu-driven utility that is part of the BIOS code in your
computer. You can use it to:
v Configure serial connector assignments
v Change the startup sequence
v Enable USB keyboard and mouse support
v Resolve configuration conflicts
v Set the date and time
v Set an administrator password
Complete the following steps to start the Configuration/Setup Utility program:
1. Turn on the computer and watch the monitor screen. If your computer is already

Starting the Boot Menu program

The Boot Menu program is a built-in, menu-driven configuration utility program that
you can use to temporarily redefine the first startup device without changing
settings in the Configuration/Setup Utility program.
Complete the following steps to start the Boot Menu program to change the startup
sequence of your computer:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Press F12.
4. Select the startup device.
The next time the computer is started, it returns to the startup sequence that is set
in the Configuration/Setup Utility program.

With the SCSISelect Utility program, you can configure the devices that are
connected to the optional SCSI adapter. Use this program to change default
values, resolve configuration conflicts, and perform a low-level format on a SCSI
hard disk drive. For information about how to start this utility, see "Starting the
SCSISelect utility program (some models)" on page 37.
