Repairing defaults
The device contains delicate electronic components. Radio
transmitting equipment in the immediate vicinity may there-
fore cause interference. This could be, for example, mobile
phones, walkie-talkies, CB radios, remote controls and mi-
crowaves. If interference occurs, move such objects away
from the appliance.
Electrostatic discharge can lead to malfunctions. If the de-
vice fails to work, remove the batteries for a short while
and then replace them.
Do NOT disconnect the battery to deactivate the alarm.
You will lose your insurance if you do this. Fan some air or
open a window so that smoke or dust can escape.
Problem
The smoke alarm does
not sound during testing.
TIP: Press and hold
down the test button for
at least 5 seconds.
Proposed solution
1. Open the smoke alarm to
check if the battery is correctly
inserted.
2. Clean the smoke alarm.
3. Replace the smoke alarm with
a new detector.
