1. Introduction
IMPORTANT: Read all instructions before installation and keep
this user guide near the alarm for future reference.
Do not try to repair the smoke alarm yourself. Refer to the
instructions in Warranty section for service.
Thisalarmdetectsproductsofcombustionusingphotoelectric
technologyandcarbonmonoxideusinganelectrochemicalcell.Many
timesthroughoutthisUser'sGuide,wewillrefertoCarbonMonoxide
as"CO."
Thisalarmisacceptableforusenearkitchensorcookingareasbutcan
beusedinallotherresidentialapplicationswhereasmokeorCOalarm
isrequired.
Afterten(10)yearsofcumulativepowerup,thisunitwill"chirp"two
timesevery30seconds.Thisisan"operationalendoflife"feature
whichwillindicatethatitistimetoreplacethealarm.
Tohelpidentifythedatetoreplacetheunit,alabelhasbeenaffixedto
thesideofthealarm.Writethe"Replaceby"date(10yearsfrominitial
powerup)inpermanentmarkeronthelabelpriortoinstallingtheunit.
