Mounting on Other Surfaces
1.Chooseamountinglocation(wall
orceiling)andusingthemounting
plateprovidedasatemplate,mark
three-holelocations.
2.Installthethreeprovidedscrews
throughthemountingplateand
tighten.DONOTover-tighten
screws.(Ifmountinginplasterboard
orsimilarsurface,drill3/16"
holesandusetheplasticanchors
provided.)Anchorsarenotrequired
formountingonhardsurfacessuch
aswood.
Attaching And Activating The Alarm
Thismodelisequippedwithafeaturethatautomaticallyactivatesthe
alarmwhenthealarmisattachedtothemountingplateforthefirst
time.Onceactivated,thebatterywillsupplypowertothealarmforthe
lifeofthealarm(10years)undernormalconditions.
Alignthealarmwiththemountingplateandrotateclockwise(right)
approximately45°untiltheunitstopsandclicksintoplace.DONOT
over-tighten.Ifunitneedstobere-aligned,rotatethealarmcounter
clockwise,removeandrotatetodesiredalignment.NOTE:Thealarmwill
mounttotheplateinthree
(3)positions(every120degrees).
Youwillknowpowerhasbeensuppliedwhenalarmbrieflychirps.Unit
willremainonuntilunitisdisabledbytheuseratalarm'sendoflife.
Donotovertightenthealarmasdamagetoalarmormountingsurface
mayoccur.
The alarm is now activated! Afterinstallation/activation,testyour
alarmasdescribedinOperationandTestingsection.
Warning: Failure to properly install and activate this alarm
will prevent proper operation of this alarm and will
prevent its response to fire hazards.
