When the RGB insertion is requested only with fast blanking (no slow switching), the
synchronization is internal. The external device has to synchronize the inserted RGB with the video
signal provided by the TV set at the scart output.
(2) FAST BLANKING DETECTION
The RGB insertion from fast blanking is per default enabled when the set is in TV, AV1 or AV2 mode.
When fast blanking is high, the RGB's are inserted in the appropriate internal sync mode depending
on the slow switching pin8 high / low on AV1 Scart.
(3) OVERRIDING FAST BLANKING RGB's
Following a user action to change the source (eg: go to TV, AV2, Component or PC), the RGB
insertion is overridden , i.e. removed from the screen. (Fast blanking is disabled)
(4) RECOVERING OVERRIDDEN RGB
When AV1 scart pin 8 goes from low to high, AV1 is displayed and RGB insertion enabled. When the
AV1 is manually selected, the RGB insertion is enabled again.
3.2.4 AV1 "Full Screen" RGB Handling
(1) When a full page RGB is to be inserted regardless of pin 8 or pin 16, the user will toggle AV inputs
and select AV1 RGB:
(A) The horizontal position will be offset to get a full page RGB centered. (Use Philips monoscope
pattern in RGB mode as reference).
(B) The RGB display even without fast blanking is therefore available. (Games, ...)
(2) In case of RGB insertion with fast blanking (pin 16), the full page mode is not auto detected. AV1
RGB has to be manually selected to get the horizontal position offset.
(A) When the TV source is not AV1 : The rising edge on the AV1 pin8 switches the set to AV1 in
CVBS mode or in RGB mode.
(B) When the TV source is AV1 : The rising edge on the AV1 pin8 does not affect the selection AV1
RGB.
(3) AV STATUS DISPLAY :
(A) When the AV1 RGB is selected, the status display shows "AV1 RGB".
(B) When AV1 is selected, the status display shows "AV1".
3.2.5 SCART Power manager
Pin 8 control : The set can also be waked up by pin 8 going high, if pin 8 goes low again the set goes
back to standby.
