Boot BIOS Specifications

Boot BIOS is a set of x86 instructions in the Host Bus Adapter (HBA) flash ROM that
lets you designate a Fibre Channel attached drive as the boot drive. Boot BIOS works
with the existing system BIOS on Intel Pentium class PCI system boards.
Boot BIOS supports:
Multiple topologies: Fabric Point-to-Point and FC-AL Private Loop
Multiple boot compliance
Supports Enhanced Disk Driver Services (EDD) Version 3.0
A maximum of four Fibre Channel HBAs per server, depending on which
StorageWorks product you are using.
Up to 256 LUNs, with up to eight LUN entries per target ID
Detecting up to 99 devices per HBA
Displaying a maximum of 16 devices during the boot process
