A. Gas Log/Lighter Provision
WARNING! Fire and/or Asphyxiation Risk!
solid wood fuel or decorative gas appliance only. Gas fire
generates fumes.
A certified gas log lighter or decorative gas log set, vented
or unvented can be installed in this fireplace.
• Maximum input is 100,000 BTU/hr.
• Decorative gas appliance must be certified to ANSI
Z21.60 "Standard for Decorative Gas Appliances for
Installation in Vented Fireplaces".
• Must be installed in accordance with the National Fuel
Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1.
• A gas log set must incorporate a gas shutoff.
• Knockouts are provided on both sides of the fireplace
and in refractories for 1/2 in. (13 mm) gas line.
• Seal refractory around gas line with fireplace mortar or
a non-combustible sealant.
