V-Belt Tension &
Replacement
V-belts stretch and wear with use, so check ten-
sion after the first three months and then every
six months to ensure optimal power transmission.
Replace all V-belts as a matched set if any of
them show signs of glazing, fraying, or cracking.
Tools Needed
Flat Head Screwdriver ¼" .................................. 1
Open-End Wrench 10mm .................................. 1
Tensioning V-Belt
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Remove end gear cover (see Figure 110).

3.
Loosen tensioner bolt (see Figure 111).
4.
Push tensioner against V-belt to tension it,
then secure tensioner (see Figure 111).
5.
Check belt tension: The belt is correctly
tensioned when there is approximately
deflection when it is pushed with moderate
pressure (see Figure 111). If there is more
than
" when belt is pushed, loosen tensioner

bolt, adjust belt tension, then tighten tensioner
bolt.

6.
Secure end gear cover.
Replacing V-Belt
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Remove end gear cover (see Figure 110).
3.
Loosen tensioner lock bolt, pivot tensioner to
right and secure it temporarily, then remove
V-belt (see Figure 111).
4.
Install new V-belt.
5.
Tension V-belt.
6.
Re-install end gear cover.
