Device Noise

The only noise generated by the GR4000 comes from it's internal cooling fans. Plan an
installation taking the noise of the router into consideration. For the detail information
about it, see the section 2.2 Setting Conditions for the GR4000 Models.

NOTE: The temperature inside a rack must be within the range of the operating
temperature of the router (0-40 deg. C). In case that the temperature inside a rack does
not satisfy the conditions required, you will have router reliability problems. Therefore,
consider the following ways to keep the temperature inside the rack within the proper
of the operating temperature.
- Set a fan inside a rack for thorough ventilation.
- Use a front/back door which has holes, or detach a door sometimes to let
the air flow through a rack.
- Decrease the number of the devices stored in a rack, or put a router
under another heating object.
NOTE: Below are some ideas to shut out a noise generated by the GR4000:
- Block out noise by installing a partition or a shelf between the router and
people.
- Avoid putting a router in an area people use frequently, such as offices,
meeting rooms, at desks, etc.
- Put a router in the corner of an office or install it in a rack.
- Don't install the router near hard objects that reflect sound easily, such as
windows.
