9 Troubleshooting Charts

Microfilmer
Trouble
Microfilmer does not start.
Audible alarm sounds, indicator
lights on control panel light up.
Documents not feeding straight.
Documents not stacking properly.
Uneven image density on film.
Front or back of documents not
being photographed in duplex
operation.
Clear streak seen through film
images.

Probable Cause
Power cord not connected properly.
Power supply fuse blown.
Cabinet cover not fully closed.
Burned out lamp.
Document is blocking lower or
upper sensor.
Film supply completely used up.
NOTE: This alarm is disabled
during Not Filming mode.
Burned out lamp.
Feeder not adjusted.
Document guides not adjusted.
Document stop out of adjustment.
Dirt or fingerprints on the clear
document guides or the mirrors.
Mirrors removed or covered.
Foreign object in the optical path.
Remedy
Push the plug all the way into
receptacle and into the power
module.
Check fuses in power module.
Replace blown fuse(s) with identical
type and rating. If trouble persists,
call your Equipment Service
Representative.
Correct any condition preventing the
cover from closing completely.
Contact your equipment service
representative for lamp
replacement.
Clear documents from sensor(s).
See Clearing a Jam.
Remove the exposed film and
reload. See Unloading Full Rolls.
Contact your equipment service
representative for lamp
replacement.
Adjust the feeder.
Adjust the guides so that the
documents are centered. Provide
1/16-inch (.2 cm) clearance
between guides and end of widest
document.
Readjust the document stop so the
receiving area is slightly longer than
the longest document.
Clean the document guides and
mirrors as instructed in
Maintenance Procedures.
Check mirrors. Clean mirrors if
necessary.
Check the optical path from the
document guides to the lens.
Remove any object that would
obstruct the passage of light rays.
