UTILITY MENU – Device Security Lock
To protect the MEQ-2000 from accidental or unauthorized changes, the device security
lockout function is provided. There are two levels of security lock: a simple lock/unlock
function, and a password protected lock/unlock function.
Access the Security Lock menu page by pushing the LOCK button in the UTILITY menu.
Three available options may be selected with the parameter wheel: EASY LOCK, PWD
LOCK and UNLOCK.
Choosing DEVICE: EASY LOCK and confirming the selection with the F5 (ENTER) key will
prevent changes to any of the unit's parameters. Menus may still be viewed, but any
attempts to adjust system parameters will bring up a DEVICE LOCKED message over the
actual menu screen. To unlock the device, enter the SECURITY LOCK menu, select
DEVICE: UNLOCK with the parameter wheel, and confirm with the F5 (ENTER) key.
Choosing DEVICE: PWD LOCK and confirming the selection with the F5 (ENTER) key will
password-protect the unit from changes. The display will highlight the first character of
the password, as shown in the above illustration. Using the parameter wheel, select the
first character and press the
cursor key. Repeat this for all five characters and press the
F5 (ENTER) key to lock the unit. To unlock, press the LOCK button in the UTILITY menu. The
first character in the password will be highlighted. Enter the password as described
above to unlock.
TIP: If you have forgotten your password, you may bypass the password protection by
holding the F1 key for two full minutes.
