MEQ-2000
The screen below displays the second set of parameters available:
ATT
adjusts the attack time over a range of 0.1 ms to 20 ms in 0.1 ms
increments.
REL
adjusts the release time over a range of 10ms to 5000 ms in 10 ms
increments.
HOLD
adjusts the hold threshold below THR, over a range of 0 to 3dB in 0.1 dB
increments.
ART
selects the mode of the Automatic Release Time algorithm. Available
options are: OFF, LAZY, NORM, and QUICK. Use QUICK for program
material high in dynamics; use LAZY for slow instrumental and symphonic
music.
The COM/LIM module utilizes a "look-ahead" algorithm that allows a highly reliable
limiting function. To help configure the compressor/limiter for optimal performance, the
COM/LIM screen provides input and output level meters, a limiter characteristic display,
and a gain reduction meter. For best performance and minimal distortion, the gain
reduction meter should normally not exceed –12dB. If the output gain is at maximum and
the OVF flag is flashing, decrease the gain slightly to avoid clipping. You can also
activate the SOFT CLIP function in the LEVELS module (MODE menu).
