DDI - Flight Data indicator
The Flight Data Indicator:
The flight data indicator, has three sections:
CURRENT RANGE:
Yes, you guessed it, it shows the current range if the current airspeed is
maintained. However the calculation is done not with the entire amount of fuel
in the tanks. For safety reasons the computer calculates only with the full
amount of fuel MINUS a 2000lb reserve.
OPTIMUM RANGE:
The range and endurance values, indicated in this section are achievable
when the aircraft maintains the indicated Mach and altitude in the line above.
Other flight data:
The third section, at the bottom of the indicator shows a variety of important
data like: Current Mach number, KIAS knots indicated airspeed,TAS true
airspeed, GS groundspeed, ALT altitude, amount of fuel, FF fuel flow in
lb/hour and thrust in kN.
