    This document provides guidance for you in use of the products. Descriptions in this guide may slightly differ from actual products due to version upgrade or other reasons. Unless otherwise indicated, figures and texts in this manual use ADS NX5-4020 as an example.

    NSFOCUS ADS Installation Guide Overview The ADS system is an integrated hardware device. This chapter gives a brief account of ADS devices. Appearance This section details the appearance, including front and rear panels, of ADS devices. The interface model or quantity of actual products may slightly vary with the batch or model.

    ③ Power port 1.1.4 ADS NX5-10000 Series 1.1.4.1 Front Panel The front panel of ADS NX5-10000 varies with the type of the following interfaces used: HTCA-SFPP16TX4, HTCA-CXP2SFPP20, and HTCA-QSFP28x6QSFP4SFPP16. HTCA-SFPP16TX4 Interface The HTCA-SFPP16TX4 interface supports only1000M and 10G switch boards.

    If necessary, connect the ADS device to two independent power supplies to implement 1+1 power redundancy. In this case, even if one of the power modules fails, the ADS device still operates properly. The power switch and socket reside at the rear of the chassis, as shown in Figure 1-4.

    The OK LED being off although the device is started indicates that the power is overloaded or fails. The OK indicator is available for the AC power supply on ADS NX3- 2020/2020E/2010, NX5-4020/4020E, and NX5-6025/6025E, but unavailable for the AC power supply on ADS NX3-200E/600E/800E, NX5-8000, and NX-10000.

    Accessories supplied may vary with the product model. For the specific items, refer to the packing list. Besides the stuff in the accessory box, prepare the following: IP address: IP address reserved for ADS devices. You are advised to reserve both an − IPv4 address and an IPv6 address for an ADS device.

    NSFOCUS ADS Installation Guide System Deployment Currently, the ADS device can be deployed in in-path mode or out-of-path mode based on different network environments. The following sections detail the two modes. ADS NX3-2020/2020E/2010/200E/600E/800E and NX5-4020/4020E/6025/6025E support both in-path and out-of-path modes, whereas ADS NX5-8000 and NX5-10000 support the out-of-path mode only.

    To perform configurations on the console, you need to connect the device to a computer with a console port cable. The console port rate of ADS devices is 115200 bps. After login, you can perform configurations by selecting menus. For details, see section 4.2 Network...

    Connect the ADS device and the computer by using a console cable. To log in to the console user interface of ADS, follow these steps: Step 1 Use terminal software to connect to the console user interface of ADS via the console port. For serial communication parameters, see appendix A Default Parameters.

    NSFOCUS ADS Installation Guide As the ADS device supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, you can type an IPv4 address (for example, https://192.168.1.1) or IPv6 address (for example, https://[2001::107]). After you type the IP address, a security alert page appears as shown in Figure 4-1.

The new password must be a string that is no less than 8 characters and at least contains two of the following character types: English letters, digits, and special characters.

    Failure to access the web-based manager after ADS is installed. Troubleshooting Check whether the network connection between the client and the management interface of ADS is blocked by a firewall. If so, make sure that port 443 of the ADS device is accessible. 5.2.2 ADS Access Failure Symptom ADS is not accessible though its threshold is not reached yet.
