    Preface Scope This document describes the basic information and detailed installation procedure about NSFOCUS ADS NX3 2000 series (NX3-2020/2020E/2010), NX3-200E/600E/800E, NX5 4000 series (NX5-4020/4020E), NX5 6000 series (NX5-6025/6025E), and NX5 8000 series (NX5-8000). This document provides guidance for you in use of the products. Descriptions in this guide may slightly differ from actual products due to version upgrade or other reasons.

    NSFOCUS ADS Installation Guide Preparations Prepare the following before installing ADS devices:  Accessories supplied with the device Before installation, make sure that the following items are included in the accessory box delivered with the device: − Straight-through cable (green): used for network connections.

    NSFOCUS ADS Installation Guide Initial Configuration The device can operate properly after you complete simple network configuration and import a valid certificate. Network configuration involves the following:  IP address  Subnet mask  Gateway  DNS Server Network configuration can be conducted on the console or the web-based manager. Both approaches require a computer and accessories (included in the accessory box).

Step 4 Select a port (COM1 in this example) that is connected to the computer through a serial cable.

Type the user name and password (admin and nsfocus respectively by default) of the console administrator. Since ADS devices support IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack, you can configure the IP address/subnet mask and IPv6 address/prefix length for the management interface.  IPv4 address: On the main menu, type 1 and press Enter to configure the IPv4 address, subnet mask and gateway address as prompted.
