Before installing the coulter assemblies, the shank should be in place and correctly spaced. Make sure the
frame is level and securely blocked up.
1. Install the roll pin (15) through coulter rod and tap in until it is equally spaced on rod.
2. Attach the coulter rod to the frame as shown. Tighten U-Bolts sufficiently to prevent coulter rod from sliding
downward. Roll pin should be parallel to frame tube.
3. Place locking collar through slot on coulter pivot.
4. Install coulter assembly less coulter disc on coulter rod and fasten by inserting roll pin (20) through coulter
rod, center roll pin on rod.
5. Install setscrew (18) in locking collar. Raise coulter assembly up to shoulder on coulter rod and align coulter
so that the coulter hub face is parallel to the direction of travel. With locking collar centered in slot, tighten
setscrew (18).
6. Install coulter disc on coulter hub and tighten retaining nuts.
7. Set height of coulter to cut through crop residue. Check alignment of coulter and shank as this is critical for
correct operation. Once the coulter height is set, torque coulter rod retaining U-bolts.
The correct setting of the coulter should minimize surface disturbance and maintain maximum residue coverage.
NOTE:
Jack Stand Mounts should be
assembled on Outer Two Coulter Units.
