TRACTOR PREPARATION

1. Only a tractor capable of safely lifting and operating the SLR should be used. If necessary, add additional
front end weights to correctly balance tractor. For safe steerage a minimum of 20% of the tractor weight should
be on the front wheels with the straight line ripper raised.
2. Position the tractor drawbar so it will not interfere with the SLR frame or coulter when the machine is raised.
3. Allow the lower links to sway and set the limit blocks to prevent tire contact. Adjust the tractor lift arms to level
the SLR.
SLR OPERATION
The SLR is designed to fit on a tractor's category II or III 3-Point Hitch.
The SLR has 36" of underframe clearance to allow for effective residue flow allowing 16" of soil penetration to
get under the hard plow sole - lifting, shattering, and breaking it up with the least amount of power required. This
allows surface water to penetrate the soil faster and allows fertilizer to penetrate deeper into the soil, but most of
all it allows crop roots to penetrate deeper into the soil to use valuable moisture and fertilizer all season long,
even during a dry season.
Gauge wheels are standard to control the depth of the chisel shanks.

PREPARING SLR FOR OPERATION

SHANK INSTALLATION
Assemble Shear Bolt Trip Shank Assemblies as shown in Illustration #1.
Install the chisel shank assemblies on the SLR frame so they are 24" - 30" apart as needed in your field
conditions. Measure the distance at a right angle to the shanks.
Install Shear Bolt Trip Shank Assemblies on SLR Frame using four 3/4" x 6-1/2" bolts, lockwashers and nuts.
Install Auto Reset Shank assemblies on SLR Frame using four 3/4" x 2-3/4" bolts, four lockwashers and nuts.
