    1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The HE4K-DCK-1X is a H.265/HEVC, H.264 and MJPEG video encoder designed to be a companion to the Sony FCB-ER8300 block camera. It is capable of accepting HD video from the camera at 60 frames per second and producing IP streams that can be sent on a standard Ethernet cable.

    Note: The HE4K-DCK-1X is set to DHCP by default. If no DHCP server is available on the network, a static IP address of 192.168.0.120 and a netmask of 255.255.0.0 will be assigned. The IP address can be manually entered as the URL in a browser window to access the user interface.

If the encoder status message in the bottom right corner of the screen shows RUNNING, you will need to click the stop or Stop All button in order to change any settings.

    6.0 STREAMING CONTROL This section gives step-by-step instructions on setting the HE4K-DCK-1X to output and stream video using each of the output format options: UDP, RTP, RTSP and RTMP. In addition to the HE4K-DCK-1X, a Windows PC with the VLC media player downloaded is required.

    In general, streaming using RTP will result in lower latency than streaming using TS. When streaming UDP or TSRTP, the HE4K-DCK-1X supports a low latency mode called TS Lowlat Mode. When enabled, TS Lowlat Mode sends the transport stream packets as soon as possible, instead of pacing them out evenly.

    DOC-USR-0123-06 6.10 Composite Pass-Through The HE4K-DCK-1X allows for the currently encoded content to be passed through to the Composite output while the unit is streaming. This allows the camera content to be viewed on a TV or other display monitor.

    Record Snapshot HE4K-DCK-1X supports taking a snapshot while streaming video (software V2.08 or later). By default, the snapshot will be at the native HE4K-DCK-1X camera resolution (3840x2160) with an option to change the size of image.     System Setup tab and saving that to the preset. 8.3 Encoder ROI The HE4K-DCK-1x allows for the encoding of a Region of Interest (ROI) in the captured video. This allows the encode of only the region of the video you are interested in.

    DOC-USR-0123-06 8.5 Set a Static IP Address The HE4K-DCK-1X supports DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). This is enabled by default, allowing the camera to dynamically receive an IP address at startup. The IP address that is assigned can be seen through using ZFinder. If you prefer, you can set your camera to a static IP address. If you would like to have your PC set to a static IP address, you will need to set your camera to a static IP address as well in order for it to be discoverable by ZFinder.

    8.7 Setting a Password The HE4K-DCK-1X provides the option to set a password to limit access to the user interface. Note: To disable the password requirement set the password to blank and click change.
