Functions and Features The PAV5000 consists of the below parts: 1) Control unit The control unit is cored with ARM processor and FPGA, integrated with the touch-screen to fulfill the monitor and control. Soft-Start: For reducing the shock current during the starting process of capacitive and inductive load, such as the PV inverter or load unit with switch-mode power supply.

  • Page 21 PAV5000 4-Quadrant Amplifier User Manual 5.4.5 Operation Instruction According to the real experiment requirements, when user connect the PA Output Interface, user could use the Resistance Block options K0, K1, K2, K3, different wiring options to connect the resistance range required with amplifiers.
  • Page 22 It is recommended to switch K0, K3, K2 to "ON" state in turn. (K0→K3→K2) If PAV5000 is used to absorb power, keep the K1 at “OFF”. According to different resistance range selected (see the Table 6.), the sink capability could be increased together with the amplifier’s rated sink capability range.

    PAV5000 4-Quadrant Amplifier User Manual 5.5 PAV DIA-01 AURORA Digital Module (optional) PAV DIA01 is the optional unit in the 4-quadrant amplifier solutions. Via the Aurora port, it communicates with the real-time dynamic system, and then converts the received digital signal into analog signal with output to the power amplifier unit.

The power alarm information, power amplifier signal, mode, state, and the network connection can be checked. In the main interface, the PA output, signal, state, and mode information can be checked.

(1) PA output Voltage (V), Current (A), Apparent Power (VA), Frequency (Hz), Power Factor (Cosφ), and Temperature (℃).

The selectable frequency range are: “≥45Hz”(default), and “<45Hz”. Note: In the PA state interface, the PA signal type and frequency range must be consistent with the setting on the external simulator or monitoring unit, otherwise data will be wrong.
