ADDING SCANNER BOARDS

Scanner boards are added to the expansion cabinet to increase test point capacity. To add a
scanner board to an expansion cabinet, turn off power and disconnect the power cord. (Power
must be shut off on the entire system.)

Series 90E9/Series 90E32 Cabinets

On the 9-card Series 90E9 cabinet, remove the rear panel. On the 32-card Series 90E32 cabinet,
the rear panel is split into two halves; remove the panel on the side where the scanner board will
be installed. All scanner boards must be installed consecutively in the card cage without
skipping one. As shown in Figure 10, scanner boards are installed from the bottom left and
upward. When the top slot is filled, the next board is inserted into the right-hand column, at the
bottom, with additional boards continuing toward the top. If more capacity is needed after the
last slot has been filled, a new cabinet must be added. (Refer to Adding Expansion Cabinets,
earlier in this section.)

The low-voltage Series 90 scanner boards must have jumpers installed before
they are inserted into the expansion cabinets. For jumper location and settings,
