Series 90 Setup Manual
Scanner Relay Res
Scanner Relay Resistance test measures the on resistance using a high-current and a low-
current source. This test requires a shorting bar to be installed.
Isolation Amplifier
Isolation Amplifier tests the performance of the isolation amplifier and the high-voltage-
generator when loaded. This test uses a 100Mohm load resistor between test point 1 and test
point 57.
Controller Leakage
Controller Leakage tests for high-voltage leakages on the scanner control board. During this
test the high-voltage-select relay is deactivated to isolate the control board from the scanner
boards.
System Leakage
System Leakage tests the high-voltage leakage in the complete system. The high-voltage-
select relay is activated to connect the scanner boards.
Shorting Bar Size
Shorting Bar indicates the number of points that have shorting bars installed. Shorting bars
typically are made by connecting all the pins on a mating connector together. If only one
connector is used for the test, the Shorting Bar Size should be set to 32 (one connector).
During a test requiring a shorting bar, the test will pause to allow the shorting bar to be
moved to the next connector or set of connectors depending on the Shorting Bar Size. It must
be specified in increments of 32. Shorting bars are shown in Appendix B.
Sense Resistor
The value of the Sense Resistor is set to 80 KΩ at the factory.
Voltage Type
The Series 90HV originally had a maximum isolation test voltage of 1000 vdc. This was later
increased to 1500 vdc. This value should be set according to the tester being tested. Refer to
Advance Functions discussed later in this section.
