TECHNICAL BULLETIN 22
The RHFE-556 (FAIII, FTRAIII, WTA) using propane gas is not recommended for installation above
2000 ft (610 m).
The RHFE-431 (FAIII, WTA) using natural gas or propane gas is not recommended for installation
above 5000 ft (1524 m).
Proper operation of the Rinnai RHFE-431 (FAIII, WTA) or RHFE-556 (FAIII, FTRAIII, WTA) at high
altitude may require changing the manifold pressure settings. Refer to Table 1 (RHFE-431, natural gas),
Table 2 (RHFE-431, propane gas), or Table 3 ( RHFE-556, natural gas). If the manifold pressures
required for the installation elevation are different than the factory setting then follow the procedure
below.
Changing Manifold Pressure Settings
1. Turn off the gas and the power supply.
2. Remove the screws that hold the front panel.
Pull the panel out at the bottom and lift up

3. Remove two test point screws (1/8 NPT tap)
with 3/16 Allen wrench and attach the
manometer to both test ports. Both ports
must be used in order to measure the
