General Maintenance
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage
from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloth
to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

a. Keep your band saw clean.
b. Remove sawdust from the inside frequently.
c. Do not allow pitch to accumulate on the saw table, blade guides, or thrust bearings. Clean
them with gum and pitch remover.
d. Apply a thin coat of automobile type wax to the saw table's top so the wood slides easily
while cutting.
Lubrication
All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with an amount of high-grade lubricant sufficient for
the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further lubrication is required.
Motor/Electrical
Frequently vacuum or blow out sawdust from the motor.
Wheels
Cleaning wheels:
Pitch and sawdust accumulate on the rubberized surface of the wheel and needs to be removed
with a fine wire brush or a piece of wood. Do not use a sharp knife or any kind of solvent.
Wheel Brush (Fig. 25)
The wheel brush is located inside the saw
housing next to the lower wheel and helps
keep the blade clean of sawdust and wood
chips. As the brush becomes worn, it will need
to be adjusted or replaced.
a. Loosen the locking nut that secures the
wheel brush with an adjustable wrench (not
included).
b. Position the wheel brush against the wheel.
c. Tighten the locking nut.
Before
performing any maintenance, make sure the tool is unplugged
from the power supply and the switch is in the OFF position. Failure

When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts
can create a hazard or cause product damage.
