Drive Belt Adjustment
(Fig. 17 & 18)
Check the tension of the drive belt by pressing
down on it in the center between the motor
pulley and lower wheel. The belt should deflect
1/4" (6 mm) at this point.
a. Disconnect the saw from power source.
b. Open the lower door.
c. Loosen but NOT REMOVE the two bolts that
secure the motor assembly to the housing
with the included 6 mm hex wrench.
d. To reduce the belt tension, pull the motor
assembly up (counterclockwise).
To increase the belt tension, push the
motor assembly down (clockwise).
e. Tighten the bolts that secure the motor to the
housing.
f. Close the lower door.
Cutting Speed Adjustment (Fig. 19)
Your band saw can cut at 1700 or 2500 FPM.
The high speed is generally suitable for soft
woods; the low speed is generally suitable for
hard woods. To determine what setting will
work best for your particular cut, make test cuts
in scrap pieces before beginning operation.
a. Disconnect the saw from power source.
b. Open the lower door.
c. Loosen but DON'T REMOVE the two
bolts that secure the motor assembly to
the housing with the included 6 mm hex
wrench, then pull the motor assembly up
(counterclockwise). This will relieve tension
on the drive belt (Fig. 17).
d. Position the belt as shown in Fig. 19.
e. Adjust the drive belt tension as needed, refer to the section "DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT".
