2. Remove:
• valve cotters
NOTE:
_
Attach a valve spring compressor 1 and
attachment 2 between the valve spring
retainer and the cylinder head to remove the
valve cotters.

CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT

1. Check:
• cam lobes
Pitting/scratches/blue discoloration →
Replace.
2. Measure:
• cam lobe dimensions a and b
Out of specification → Replace.
Camshaft lobe limit
Intake
a 25.200 mm (0.9921 in)
b 20.894 mm (0.8226 in)
Exhaust
a 25.201 mm (0.9922 in)
b 20.921 mm (0.8237 in)

The following procedure applies to all of the
rocker arms and rocker arm shafts.
1. Check:
• rocker arm
Damage/wear → Replace.
