Mac client (ldap) commands

Note
The commands in this section relate to the ldap database.
The ldap database is used for logging onto a Mac client
connected to the HDXchange domain.
To view the ldap entries, type the command:
ldapsearch -x -b 'dc=hdxchange, dc=com' | less
Manually adding Mac users to ldap
database
Command: sudo /opt/dvstation/www/html/webadmin/
users/addldapuser.sh
Options: None
Description: This command is used to manually add an
HDXchange user to the ldap database. This command can
be used when a user that has been added to HDXchange
via webadmin, has failed to update the ldap database.
Manually deleting Mac users from ldap
database
Command: sudo /opt/dvstation/www/html/webadmin/
users/deleteldapuser.sh
Options: None
Description: This command is used to manually delete a
HDXchange user from the ldap database. This command
can be used when a user that has been deleted from
HDXchange via webadmin, has failed to update the ldap
database.
Manually adding groups to ldap database
Command: sudo /opt/dvstation/www/html/webadmin/
groups/addldapgroup.sh
Options: None
Description: This command is used to manually add an
HDXchange group to the ldap database. This command
can be used when a group that has been added to
HDXchange via webadmin, has failed to update the ldap
database.

Description: This command is used to manually delete an
HDXchange group from the ldap database. This command
can be used when a user that has been deleted from
HDXchange via webadmin, has failed to update the ldap
database.

Miscellaneous commands

Rebuilding the OS RAID
Command: sudo /opt/dvstation/www/html/webadmin/
cgi-bin/webadmin/rebuildsoftraid.pl
Options: None
Description: This command is used to start the rebuild of
the OS software RAID.
Listing Bins and directories
Command: sudo /bin/ls
Options: None
Description: This command is used to list the contents of a
specified directory.
Deleting files
Command: sudo /bin/rm
Options: None
Description: This command allows the deletion of files
from HDXchange. Please use with great care.
Network settings
Command: sudo /sbin/ifconfig
Options: None
Description: This command displays the network settings
of the NIC card such as IP address, subnet mask etc.
Samba service
Command: sudo /etc/init.d/smb
Options: start, stop, restart, status
Description: This command may be used with the above
listed options. The samba service is used to allow a client
PC access the HDXchange server.
DNS service
Command: sudo /etc/init.d/named
