Front compartment - storage
The front compartment houses the storage components of
the server:
• Media RAID hard disk drives (HDDs)
• OS RAID HDDs
• DVD/CD disk drive
• led switch board
These parts are accessible by removing the front lid the top
cover (see "Front lid" on page 83 for removal
instructions).
Rear compartment - processing and power
The rear compartment houses the processing and power
components of the server:
• Motherboard
• RAID controller card
• NIC card
• DIMMs
• Power supply modules
• system power board
These parts are accessible by removing the rear lid the top
cover (see "Rear lid" on page 83 for removal
instructions).
Compartment separator
The front and rear compartments are separated by two
system cooling fans. These ensure that cooling airflow is
drawn in through the front of the server unit and expelled
from the rear.
