Surge Anticipation Control Valve
3 Way
The following is a step by step narrated description of the Eliptix W-30 A 3W Surge Anticipation
Valve installation, operation and maintenance processes.
The A.R.I. R-30 Series is a line of metal, diaphragm-operated, hydraulic control valves.
The valves are suitable for installation in agriculture, water transmission and waterworks systems
for irrigation, landscape and infrastructure applications.
The W-30 series has an innovative elliptic shaped diaphragm that integrates well with a wide variety
of regulating control pilots, solenoids and control accessories.
They are compatibility designed for water level control, flow control, electric & remote control as
well as pressure reducing & pressure sustaining operation.
The W-30 A Surge Anticipation Valve is designed to prevent damage to pumps and main lines
caused by pressure surges that develop due to sudden pump power failure or shut-off of a
downstream customer. The valve opens when the line pressure suddenly drops below the preset
setting, dissipates the pressure surge and valve remains open until the pressure returns to its safe
limits. The valve should be installed on a branch-off pipeline downstream of the pump and check
valve.
