BIOS Power-On Self Test (POST)
The AMIBIOS provides all IBM standard POST routines, as well as enhanced AMIBIOS POST routines. POST supports CPU
internal diagnostics. POST codes are accessible via I/O Port 80h.
POST Phases
When the system is powered on, the AMIBIOS executes two types of routines:

System Test and Initialization (test and initialize motherboards for normal operations) and
●
System Configuration Verification (compare defined configuration with hardware actually installed).
BIOS Error Reporting
Errors are reported in one of two ways:
