6.8.3 PCI Express Expansion Card

If replacing a standard PCI Expansion card go to
Card".
If installing a PCI Express expansion card for the first time in a computer, skip to step 4.
1. Pull the retention arm on the back of the PCI Express expansion socket away from the card
(on x16 card socket only) and carefully rock the card back and forth until the connectors pull
free from the socket. Pull the expansion card straight up from the socket then away from the
inside of the chassis. Be sure not to scrape the card against the other components.
2. If you are not installing a new expansion card, install an expansion slot cover to close the
open slot.
