the HP StorageWorks D2D2500 Backup System provides consolidated disk-based data protection for up to six
servers in a 1U rack-mountable iSCSI device. Ideal for remote or branch offices and smaller It environments, the
D2D2500 works with existing backup software applications to automate daily backup tasks.
the simultaneous backup of multiple servers shrinks the overall backup window while an intuitive web-based browser interface offers both local
and remote management capability. the D2D2500 features Dynamic Deduplication which removes redundant data as backups occur, resulting
in up to 50x more backup data retained in the same raw 3tB disk. this cost-effective approach allows you to store more data on disk for longer,
providing access to an increased number of available 'recovery points' and faster restore of lost or corrupted files. While the D2D2500 is ideal
for daily backup jobs, regular offload to tape is still recommended as part of a disk-to-disk-to-tape (D2D2t) solution. an easy-to-use tape offload
feature copies or exports cartridges from the D2D system to a direct attached external tape drive.
