Jet pump clean-out procedure

WARNING
Severe injury or death may result if you ig-
nore any of the following:
Turn off and remove both main switch
keys, remove the clip from the engine
shut-off switch, and wait for all move-
ment to stop before removing the ac-
cess port caps.
Never override the interlocks to run the
engines with the rear platform hatch
open.
The impellers have sharp edges. Be
careful when reaching into jet pump ar-
eas.
If weeds or debris get caught in the intakes or
impellers, cavitation can occur, and though
the engine speed rises, forward thrust will de-
crease. If this condition is allowed to continue,
jet pump damage can occur and the engines
may overheat and seize. If there is any sign
that a jet intake or impeller is clogged with
weeds or debris, follow this clean-out proce-
dure.
(1) Turn off and remove the main switch key,
remove the clip from the engine shut-off
switch, and wait for all movement to stop.
(2) Open the rear platform hatch. (See page
61.)
(3) Check that the retaining cord is securely
attached to the access port cap and strap
eye.
