The external components on the display and right side of the computer
are shown in Figure 1-2 and described in Table 1-4.

Display and Right Side Components
Function
The TouchPad moves the mouse cursor, selects,
and activates.
The touch buttons function like the left and right
mouse button on an external mouse.
Provides alphanumeric keys, numeric keypad, 12
function keys, and special fn keys.
Produce high-quality stereo sound.
Indicate AC/battery power and charge status.
Opens the computer.
Allows for audio input.
Indicate mass storage device activity and
keyboard lock status.
Adjusts the volume of the stereo speakers.
Accepts CD-ROM disks.
Provides wireless communication between the
computer and another infrared-equipped device
using an infrared beam.
Accepts 3.5-inch diskettes.
