TORQUE ADJUSTMENT

Before making any adjustments always unplug the tool from the power
supply unit. The tightening torque is adjusted by varying the clutch spring
compression. It must never be fully compressed, nor compressed so much
that the clutch torque is higher than that specified in the catalogue for the
tool model concerned.
Fig. 1
For the E8C... range (straight and angled)
The clutch is set by tightening or untightening the threaded adjustment ring by inserting
the screwdriver provided into the slot in the shell of the tool. To access the adjustment
ring, slide the door covering the slot downwards (see fig. 1). Turn the screwdriver counter
clockwise to increase torque or clockwise to reduce it (see fig.
2 and 3).
For the E8C..RE range
The clutch is set by turning the adjustment ring at the rear
of the tool. Turn the ring anticlockwise to increase the tor-
que and clockwise to decrease it. There is a graduated scale
near the ring, the values on which correspond to the spring
compression and therefore the available torque, as shown in
the graph (fig. 5 and 6). The values are purely indicative, so it
is always necessary check with a measurement instrument.
