AFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
When the air conditioner does not cool or heat, there is a
p ossi bility of refrig erant leakage. If any refrigerant leak-
age is found, stop oper ations and ventilate the r oom well
and consult yo ur dealer immediately. If a repair invo lves
recharging the unit with refrigerant, ask the service techni-
cian for details.
• The refrigerant used in the air co nditione r is not harmful.
Normally, it does not leak. However, if refrigerant leaks and
comes in contact with fi re or heating part of sucha fan heater,
ker osene heater, or cooking stove, it will create harmful gas
and the re is risk of fi re.
T he user shou ld never attempt to wash the inside of t he
indoor uni t. Should the inside of the uni t require cleaning,
contact yo ur dealer.
• Unsuitab le detergent ma ycause damage to plasti cma terial
inside the unit, which may result in water leakag e. Should
detergent come in contact with electrical parts or the motor,
it will result in a malfunction, smoke, or fi re.
• The appliance shall be stored in aroom without continuously
operating ignition sources (f or example: op en fl ames , an
operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater).
• Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odour.
• Do not u se m eans to accelerate the def rosting p rocess or
to clean the appliance, other than those rec ommended by
the manufacturer.
• Do not pierce or burn.
T he indoor unit must be installed in rooms which exceed
the fl oor space specifi ed. Please consult your dealer.
CAUTION
Do not touch the air inlet or the aluminum fi ns of the indoor/
o utdoor unit.
• This may cau se injury.
Do not use insecticides or fl ammable sprays on the u nit.
• This may cau se a fi re or deformat ion of the unit.
Do not exp ose pets or housep lants to direct airfl ow.
• This may cau se injury to the pets or plants.
Do not place other electric appliances or fu rniture under
the indoor/outdoor unit.
• Water may drip down from the unit, which may caus edamage
or malfunction.
Do not leave the un it on a damage d installation stand .
• The unit may fall and cause injury.
Do not st ep on an unstable bench to operate or clean
the unit.
• This may cau se injury if you fall down.
Do not pull the power cord.
• This may cause a portion of the core wire to break, which
ma y cause o verheating or fi re.
Do not charge or disass emble the batteries, an d do not
throw them into a fi re.
• This ma y cause the batteries to leak, or cause a fi re or
explosion.
Do no t operate t he unit for more than 4 hours at high hu-
midity (80% RH or more) and/or with windows or outside
d oor left open.
• This may cause the water con densation in the air conditioner,
which may drip down, wetting or damaging the furnitur e.
• The water condensation in the air c onditioner may contribute
to growth of fungi, such as mold.
Do not use the unit f or special purposes, such as storing
food, raising animals, growing plant s, or preserving preci-
sion devices or art objects.
• This may cause deterioration of quality, or harm t o animals
and plants.
Do not exp ose com bustion ap plia nces to direct airfl o w.
• This may cau se incomplete combustion.
Never put batteries in your mouth for any reason to avoid
accidental ingestion.
• Battery ingestion may cause chok ing and/or poisoning.
Before cleaning the unit, switch it OFF and disconnect the
p ower plug or turn the breaker OF F.
• This may cause injury, since the fan inside rotates at high
speeds during oper ation.
When the unit will be unused for a long time, disconnect
the power plug or turn the breaker OFF.
• The unit may accumulate dirt, which may cause overheati ng
or fi re.
Replace all batteries of the remote con troller with new ones
of the same type.
• Using an old bat tery together with a new one may caus e
overheating, leakage, or explosion.
If the battery fl uid comes in contact with you r skin or clothes,
wash them thoroug hly with clean water.
• If the bat tery fluid comes in contact with your eyes, wash the m
thoroughly with clean water and immediately seek medical
attention.
Ensu re that the ar ea is well-ventilated when the unit is ope r-
ated together with a combustion appliance.
• Inadequate ventilation may cause oxygen starvation.
Turn the break er OFF when you hear thunder and the re is a
possibility of a ligh tning strike.
• The unit may be damaged if lightning strikes.
After the air condi tioner is used for several seaso ns, perform
insp ection and maintenance in additio n to n ormal cleaning.
• Dirt or dust in the unit may create an unpleasant odor, con-
tribute t ogrowth of fungi, such as mold, or clog the drain pa s-
sage, and cause water to leak from t he indoor unit. Consult
your de aler for inspection and maintenance, which require
specialized knowle dge and skills.
Do not operate swit che s with wet hands.
• This may cause electri c shock.
Do not clean the air condition er with water or place an object
that contains water , such as a fl ower vase, on it.
• This may cause fire or electric shock.
Do not step on or p lace any object on the outdoor unit.
• This may cause in jury if you or the obj ect falls down.
IMPORTANT
Dirty fi lters cause condensati on in the air condit ioner which will con-
tribute to the gr owth of fungi such as mold. It istherefo re recommende d
to clean air fi lters every 2 weeks.
For installation
WARNING
Consult your d ealer for installing the a ir co nditioner.
• It should not be installed by the user since installation requires
specialized knowledge and skills. An improperly installed air
conditioner may cause water leakage, fi re, or electric shock.
Provide a dedi cated power supply for the air conditio ner.
• A non-dedicated power supply may cause overheating or fi r e.
Do not install the unit where fl ammabl e gas could lea k.
• If gas leaks and accumulates around the outdoor unit, it ma y
cause a n explosion.
Earth the unit correctly.
• Do not connect the earth wire to a gas pipe, water pipe, light-
ning rod, o r a telephone ea rth wire. Improper earthing may
cause e lectr ic shock.
CAUTION
Install an earth leakage breaker depending on the installatio n
loca tion of the air conditioner (such as high ly humid areas).
• If an earth leakage breakeris not installed, it may cause electric
shock.
Ensu re that the drain water is properly drained.
• If the drain p assage is improper, water may drip down from
the indoor/outdoor unit, wett ing and damaging the furniture.
In case of an abnor mal co nd ition
Immediately stop operating the air conditione r and consult your dealer.
