USE THE PHONE
You can use the phone feature to make and receive phone calls as well as transmit
data through wireless wide-area networks (WWANs).
Note: Phone features are only supported on EDA51K WWAN models (EDA51K-1).
About the Phone
Phone features on the computer include a speaker and microphone. You can also
use a Bluetooth headset or hands-free kit.
On EDA51K WWAN models the phone feature is enabled by default and supports
cellular radio access technologies (2G, 3G, etc.) for voice and data connections
around the globe. See the EDA51K Data Sheet available for download at
www.honeywellaidc.com
After you turn on the phone and activate service with your wireless carrier, you can
customize the phone features and network settings in the Network & internet
section of the Settings app.
Note: EDA51K WWAN models (EDA51K-1) support Network Information and Time Zone
(NITZ) messages to automatically set the system time.
Activate the Phone
You use a SIM card to activate the phone on your EDA51K WWAN model computer
(EDA51K-1). You can purchase the micro SIM card from your network provider.
1. Press and hold the Power button until the options menu appears.
2. Tap Power off.
3. Remove the battery cover and battery from the computer, refer to
EDA51K User Guide
for more information.
