until you have set the desired position.
3. Tighten the locking screws again. Move the flash back into
a horizontal position and tighten the locking lever of the tilt
appliance.
Startup procedure/Turning on the device
1. Insert the C13 coupling of the power cord into the C13
socket (G) of the housing.
2. Insert the Euro-plug of the power cord into the wall socket
(230V max. voltage).
3. Turn on the device with the On/Off switch (L).
4. The function display appears on the LCD (C).

Operation

1. General information on operation
You can reach the settings mode from the display mode by
pressing the setting knob (Fig. 2, I). If you are in the setting
mode, the last set parameter will flash.
Pressing the setting knob repeatedly allows you to navigate
through the different areas and select those whose parameters
you want to change. All changes that you make are applied
immediately. If in the setting mode no changes are made within
5 seconds, the unit automatically switches back to display
mode and the latest setting is saved.
If you turn the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) in clockwise direction
for a specific parameter, the current value is increased. Turn it
counter-clockwise, the value decreases.
2. Setting the power of the flash
Turn the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) to set the desired power value
of the flash in the LCD (Fig. 2, C).
NOTE!
The power range is between 1.0 and 7.0. Therefore 1.0 is
the lowest power level and 7.0 is the highest. It leads to the
following values:
1.0 = 1/64 ; 2.0 = 1/32 ; 3.0 = 1/16 ; 4.0 = 1/8 ; 5.0 = 1/4
; 6.0 = 1/2 ; 7.0 = 1/1.
After another function is selected, you can adjust the flash
power by turning the setting knob. If you have selected high-
speed serial flash function,
the flash power can not be set. Unless you turn off the high-
speed serial flash function.
3. Modeling lamp settings
NOTE!
The power range of the modeling lamp is between 1.0 and 7.0.
Therefore 1.0 is the lowest power level and 7.0 is the highest.
3.1. Individual power setting
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until the symbol
flashes.
4. Turn the setting knob to set the desired power value of the
modeling lamp in the LCD (Fig. 2, C).
3.2. Normal power setting
1. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until
the staus line for the modeling lamp and symbol

of the modeling lamp in the LCD (Fig. 2, C).

3.3. Synchronous power setting
(Set modeling lamp depending on the flash power)
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting

3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until the symbol
flashes. Synchronous mode is activated when
flash anymore.
4. Turn the setting knob to set the desired value for the power
of the flash and the modeling lamp in the LCD (Fig. 2, C).
3.4. Turn off the modeling lamp
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until the symbol
flashes. After that the modeling lamp will turn off.
3.5. Full power setting
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob until the current setting unde
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until the symbol
flashes. After that the function is activated. The lamp now
works on the highest energy level.
4. Switch on or off the acoustic signal
4.1. Switching on the acoustic signal
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until
that the function is activated. The acoustic signal is switched
on.
4.2. Switching off the acoustic signal
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
unde
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until
that the function is disabled. The acoustic signal is switched
off.
5. Settings for the photocell and the red-eye reduction
5.1. Switching on the photocell
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until
that the function is activated. The photocell is switched on.
5.2. Switching off the photocell
1. Change to settings mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until
that the function is disabled. The photocell is switched off.
5.3. Setting the red-eye reduction with single pre-flash
1. Change to setting mode.
2. Press the setting knob (Fig. 2, I) until the current setting
under
flashes.
3. Press the function button (Fig. 2, J) until
the single pre-flash is activated.
5.4. Setting the red-eye reduction with double pre-flash
1. Change to settings mode.
