The next step is to change the CPU Storage Configuration to enable each VMD
slot/port as a PCIe SSD Card. First, go into the BIOS, select the Advanced menu, and
then the CPU Storage Configuration:
Inside the CPU Storage Configuration, each VMD slot/port will be listed. Click the
dropdown box for each installed VMD device and select "PCIe SSD Card" to both
enable the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU menu, and to make the device visible later
when you select your devices for your RAID:
Once finished, save, restart, and tap the Delete key to BIOS.
Note – When you set a VMD device to PCIe SSD Card, you will prevent the slot/port
from being used for any purposes other than storage. In other words, this will disable
the slot/port for VGA, audio cards, and WiFi/BT cards.
