ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
The OPTIMA line of bathroom radiators has been designed to moderate the temperature in a bathroom or small room. It can be
used to dry towels, bath mats or small laundry items. In combination with floor heating systems or with normal radiators, it is an
advantageous element for your home indoor swimming pool area, bathroom, sauna or gym.
INSTALLATION OF THE RADIATOR
1.
In choosing the correct place for your radiator, consider where it will function best, look aesthetically pleasing and be within easy
reach for use. The radiator can be connected to the central heating system from a lower intake to a lower outflow, or from an upper
intake to a lower outflow. The holes for connection have a G1/2" inner thread. Mark the correct position of the radiator on to the
wall. Make sure there is proper spacing between points L an H (the width and height). Now mark the center of the openings onto
the wall. The correct values can be found in the table according to the size of the radiator. The position of the lower clip can be
moved by one space from the recommended H value so that the radiator can be mounted to the proper vertical position.
2.
Drill holes of 10mm diameter in the marked places. Fit 10 x 60 wall plugs into the holes.
3.
Attach the bracket (part A) to the upper wall plugs using 6 x 60 screws and square washers. The wider slot on the bracket should
go against the wall. Place both brackets in a horizontal position and to the exact spacing of the opposite brackets on the rear of the
radiator. Firmly tighten the screws. Use a 6 x 60 screw to attach the Rest (part B) to the lower dowel so that the clamping screw of
part B is facing downwards. Slide part C into part B.
4.
Mount the radiator onto the upper brackets (part A) and lay it against the lower Rest (part C), check the distance between the
wall and the upper and lower part of the radiator. The radiator can then be adjusted by raising the lower side end removing part C.
You can then use up to 5 washers (24 mm diameter) to increase the lower gap. Replace part C and lay the radiator against it. After
precise placement of the lower support between the horizontal radiator tubes, firmly tighten the screws to the wall. Slide part D into
part C, press in firmly and at the same time, tighten the clamping screw at the bottom of part B. Using a spirit level, check the
radiator for being level.Adjust if necessary.
5.
Complete the installation by connecting the fittings to the (shut off) central heating system. Seal the unused openings with caps
or ventilation fittings. When connecting the radiator in the lower (intake) to lower (outflow) position, the upper openings should be
sealed with one cap and one ventilating fitting. The lower part is fitted with an attachment for the heating system. This can be either
a suitable shut-off valve or thermostatic valve, which can be either front or corner mounted. If using a one-step regulator, it is
important to seal the other lower opening with a cap. If the radiator is mounted in the upper to lower diagonal position, then only
one upper opening should be sealed with a ventilating fitting. The other upper opening should be connected to the water intake
and the lower diagonal opening should be sealed with a cap. When filling the radiator (from the central heating system), open the
ventilating fitting to release the air from the system.
USING ELECTRIC TO HEAT THE RADIATOR
When using the bathroom radiator when the central heating system is not in use (e.g. during summer months), it can be fitted with
an electric cartridge heater with the proper output according to the radiator size (see chart). It is advisable to install the electric
cartridge heater when first installing the new radiator due to the variable connections to the heating system. The cartridge heater
can be installed with or without a thermostat and can be either plugged into the wall socket or hard wired in (for UK regulations).
When using the electric cartridge heater, the ventilation fitting must be kept closed. If the radiator has a shut-off valve, this must be
left open during use. The heater should be fitted to the bottom side of the radiator, opposite to the intake valve. On the radiator
intake, mount the "T" part 2 and insert part 1 into the lower opening. Connect the mains for the heating system to the side opening
of "T" part 2. When using a single access valve, or when connecting the radiator with an upper to lower diagonal connection, the
cartridge heater should be mounted into the lower part of the radiator without using the "T" part where the cap is. The cartridge
heater including the "T" part is sold as a separate item.
Ecologically dispose of the packaging materials and the radiator at the end of its useful life, according to local country laws and
re-cycling facilities. Parts of packaging material should be re-used, where possible. Do not burn plastics.
