    Immediately after unpacking, visually inspect the DC-100 counting scale to ensure all components are included and undamaged. If any were damaged in shipment, notify Rice Lake Weighing Systems and the shipper immediately. The DC-100 counting scale is packed in custom-fitted foam. After opening the box, remove all the components.

Whenever possible, use the original carton when shipping the DC-100. Damage caused by improper packaging is not covered by the warranty.

Use the following steps to install a battery into the DC-100. Do not turn the scale upside down. Always work with the scale on its side! Damage to the load cell can occur if the scale is turned upside down.

Although the scale needs very little maintenance, you may want to check the calibration after every month or so of normal usage. To do this you will need to have a test weight of approximately the total capacity of the scale (i.e.
