- Page 3 EASILIFT 3/3/22 FITTING THE CANOPY: After assembling the base and making sure the fastening handwheel is loosened, remove the umbrella structure from the protective bag, remove all protective wrapping and place the umbrella pole into the base tube, tightening the handwheel to ensure the umbrella is secured. To fit the canopy you will require a step ladder (although this process can also be done while laying the umbrella structure on its side on a clean flat surface, taking special care not to dirty the canopy).

Gently pull outwards and upwards on a rib end to begin raising the structure - once you reach a certain point the self-lifting mechanism will take over, opening the umbrella with hardly any effort required on the part if the user.
