When to Use This Kit

This kit modifies the above model(s) to accept the newer "cast iron" burner.

Important Warnings

Turn off gas to the appliance and make sure it has fully cooled prior to conducting service.

DVS Insert, DVS Fireplace, and Spirit Installation

1. Remove the logs, embers, and burner following the instructions included with the heater.
2. The new cast burner requires a slightly different pilot bracket (it is a different height). Remove
the existing pilot bracket and replace it with the pilot bracket included with this kit (make sure to
select the correct bracket).
NOTE: Re-seal this joint with
high-temperature silicone
after installation.
3. Install the burner following the directions included with the heater (the new burner installs in the
same fashion as the old burner).

Remove the four screws holding the pilot

assembly to the pilot bracket and the pilot
bracket to the floor of the firebox.

Disconnect the pilot assembly connections

and discard the old pilot bracket.
Install the new pilot bracket and attach

the pilot connections. Attach the pilot
assembly and bracket using the
screws removed in step "a".
