9.4 Alternator brushes maintenance.

Replace every 500 hours or if the generator does not generate electricity or if the
electricity is unstable.
1 Open the alternator cover.
2 Loosen the screw that fixes the brushes and extract them.
3 The carbon brushes set must be replaced if there is a significant wear, bad
appearance or breakage. All set must be replaced at the same time.

9.5 Carburettor modification for high altitude running

At high altitude, the normal mixture of air and fuel in the carburettor will be too rich.
The performance is reduced and the fuel consumption is increased. A very rich
mixture also soils the spark plug and makes the starting of the engine more
difficult.
If a generator always operates at an altitude above 1000 meters, contact Genergy
Technical Service or an Genergy Authorized Service. The carburettor must be
modified (this service is not covered by the warranty).
NOTE: If the carburettor is modified to operate at high altitude, the mixture of
air and fuel will be too poor to operate at low altitudes. The operation of a modified
generator at low altitude can cause overheating and consequent engine damage.
Hence, it is necessary to change the carburettor to its original configuration.
