Using headphones
Connect commercially available headphones to the
PHONES jack on the rear panel.
* Sound will be output from the OUTPUT jacks even if
headphones are connected.

Turning the Power On/Off

* Once the connections have been completed (p. 13–p.
14), turn on power to your various devices in the order
specifi ed. By turning on devices in the wrong order, you
risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and
other devices.

* Always make sure to have the volume level turned down
before switching on power. Even with the volume all
the way down, you may still hear some sound when the
power is switched on, but this is normal, and does not
indicate a malfunction.

Turning the Power On

1.
Check the following before you turn on the power.
• Are your speakers or headphones connected correctly?
• Is power to the connected equipment switched off ?
2.
Turn the [VOLUME] knob on the top panel all the
way to the left.
3.
Press the [POWER] switch on the rear panel to turn
on the power.
* When turning on the power, do not touch the pitch
bend/modulation lever located at the left of the
keyboard. If you turn on the power while touching this
lever, the system may not operate correctly.
4.
Switch on power to the connected equipment,
and raise the volume to an appropriate level.
5.
While playing the keyboard, slowly turn the
[VOLUME] knob toward the right to adjust the
volume.

Turning the Power Off

1.
Check the following before you turn off the power.
• Have you minimized the volume of the connected
equipment?
• Have you saved any sound you've created? (p. 39)
2.
Switch off power to the connected equipment.
3.
Press the GAIA SH-01's [POWER] switch to turn off
the power.
