OPERATING & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
General Safety
There is a serious risk of personal injury if the user does not follow all instructions laid down in this guide. This
equipment should only be used by an able bodied, competent adult who has read and understood these instructions.
The user is responsible to ensure that all necessary risk assessments have been completed prior to use of this
equipment. This equipment should never be used if the user is feeling unwell, tired, or is under the influence of
drugs and/or alcohol. The equipment should be checked for damage and/or wear before use.

PPE must be used at all times during storing, handling and operation of the cobra rods.
•
Rods and cage must be inspected on a regular basis.
•
This equipment may only be used by suitably trained personnel
•
Inspect all equipment thoroughly before use to check for any damage. If you have any concerns, stop
using it immediately.
•
Use kinetic handling techniques when moving rods.
•
On vehicles, ensure rods are stored in a secure position
Using the Equipment
Take the unit to a suitable access point. Cordon off the area with barriers to prevent unauthorised persons gaining
access to the area. If entering a service pipe that contains power or telecommunications cables, check with the
relevant authorities as to their safety.
