Cleaning the heating system
At the first installation, it is necessary to pre-clean the ins-
tallation. In order to ensure the proper functioning of the
appliance, after each cleaning operation or water substi-
tution, verify that the appearance of the liquid system is
clear, without visible impurities and that water hardness is
under 20°F.
Characteristics of the water supplied to the appliance
Ensure that the system is supplied with water having a
maximum hardness of 20 ° F.
For areas where the water is particularly hard, provide a
water softener does not change in any way the warranty,
if the component is installed in a proper manner and is
subject to regular checks and maintenance. In case of ag-
gressive water filling (the pH should be kept between 6.6
and 8.5), ferruginous or hard, use treated water in order to
prevent scaling, corrosion and damages to the appliance.
Please note that even a small amount of impurities in the
water may decrease the performance of the installation.
The used filling water must absolutely be treated in case
of installation of large capacity (high volumes of water) or
in case of frequent replenishments of water in order to
maintain a constant level of liquid in the installation. Where
it is necessary to proceed with the cleaning of the installa-
tion, fill the entire system with treated water.
Verify that the maximum pressure, at the level of the water
supply, does not exceed 5 bar. Otherwise, provide the
installation with a pressure reducer valve.
In order to prevent frost in the pipes, if risk conditions
are detected, the system provides automatic antifreeze
cycles. In case of power failure the antifreeze protection
is guaranteed by the Exogel Kit (nominal operating tem-
perature + 4 °C), which mechanically empties the system if
necessary. By properly installing the Exogel Kit, the plant
does not need any glycol.
Glycol negatively affects the performance of the heat
pump and is therefore strongly not recommended. If gly-
col is used, Ariston will not be responsible for system
efficiency losses and recommends a correct dosage and
maintenance.
