Installing a 9V battery in the hopper with ETD

Y
our 2-bay hopper features a lighted end of train device (ETD). The ETD is powered by a 9V
alkaline battery (not included). To install the battery, simply lift the molded coal load out
of the car and connect the battery to the battery harness. See Figure 3 below. Set the battery on
the bottom of the car, and replace the coal load, taking care to avoid pinching any wires.
The LED that illuminates the ETD is not user serviceable. If service is required, please con-
tact your Factory Trained Authorized Lionel Service Station. See page 12 for details.
