DELIVERY SAFETY INDUCTION
Every Croplands sprayer is supplied
with a Safety Manual.
The sprayer is equipped with safety decals.
Risk Assessment / Fit to Work / Chemical Safety /
Work environment & Weather
PTO Shaft installation and safety practices. Where
possible Croplands use hydraulic driven pumps.
Emergency Procedures / PPE / First Aid
Competent operators
Is this the correct sprayer for the task – is this
the correct tractor – loads must not exceed
allowed tractor weights
The dangers of towing or carrying a sprayer.
Comply with all relevant road rules and regs.
If 2 or more persons are working around sprayer,
ensure you are aware of each other's activities.
Identify moving parts and crush points.
Stay clear of the machine when operating.
Correct hydraulic connections to the tractor,
and free of entrapment.
Power line awareness is vital to all sprayers with
folding boom arms.
Always connect the sprayer to tractor before
operating the boom or filling tanks.
Identify tanks and fill points for fresh water only
Regular maintenance and daily /
pre-start checks are vital.
Confirm the delivery of this manual
Identify and understand each decal
A Risk Assessment of all safety factors should be undertaken
before operating the sprayer
Correct installation of the shaft, all guards in place,
correct clothing, and an understanding of PTO dangers.
Never operate the sprayer without an emergency action plan /
appropriate Personal Protective Equipment or suitable first aid kit.
All operators must be competent to operate this sprayer
• be conversant of all safety issues
• be familiar with all controls
• be aware of all emergency procedures.
Consult with tractor specifications.
• Sprayer must be properly connected, inc safety chains
• Do not exceed travel speeds
• Do not operate on excessively sloping, slippery or irregular surfaces.
• Road travel requires booms to be folded and securely parked.
Never operate any function without checking
on the whereabout of other people, especially children.
Booms, axles / suspension, and drawbar's all contain
potential crush points. Identify them before use.
Always double check hydraulic connections. Failure to correctly
connect the return line can lead to catastrophic failure.
Take 5 for hazard identification, potential risks and control measures.
Always use wheel chocks when not
connected to a tractor
Keep the sprayer clean and free of chemical residue.
Keep the fresh-water fill and hand-wash points clean.
Safe operation starts with a frequently checked
& well maintained machine.
• Keep filters clean.
• Maintain electrical connections
• Check compressed air systems.
