5.4
Lithium Battery
SGX1000 series RF signal generators contain one Lithium "coin cell" battery to provide for non-volatile
storage of the instrument state. This is located on the Main Printed Circuit assembly. It should have a life
of 5-10 years. When replacement is necessary, the battery must be disposed of in strict compliance with
local environmental regulations.
5.5 Software Upgrade
Instrument operating software has been loaded into SGX1000 series RF signal generators at the factory,
including the Boonton Electronics SGX1000 series RF signal generator Application Software. The
Application Software will be updated from time to time to correct errors and add new features. Users
can upgrade their software by downloading it from the Boonton Electronics webpage, boonton.com.
Copy the upgrade file(s) into the root directory on a USB drive and plug the drive into one of the
instrument's USB ports (front or rear). From the SGX1000 series RF signal generator application, select
the System menu, and select Go under Update Software.
Caution
When loading new software into SGX1000 series RF signal generators, some or all stored
instrument configurations and preset operating selections may be lost. Contact Boonton
Electronics for information on which files may be affected.
