12.2 GSM Dongle
These instructions only apply if you purchased the optional GSM USB dongle.
Note: The following must be considered when using a GSM module:
1. Check the SIM does NOT have voicemail enabled. This is very important as it will not work properly with digiGate if it has a
voicemail.
2. SIM card must be activated and topped up with credit if on Pay As You Go.
3. Verify the SIM card can make and receive a call by testing it in a mobile phone.
4. Check the SIM has no pin lock on it.
5. Check the SIM is not data only and has GSM (voice) capabilities.
6. Check you have signal at the location of your digiGate unit in order for the GSM dongle to work.
7. Your dongle will not work on your digiGate unless activated by us beforehand. Only dongles supplied by us will function with
digiGate.
1. Slide open the SIM card slot on the dongle.
2. Insert the full size SIM card and close the card slot.
3. Plug the dongle into any of the USB ports on your digiGate.
12.3 Power
Note: Ensure you have all cables & dongles plugged in before this step.
1.Plug the thin end of the power cable into the digiGate system as shown above.
2.Plug the socket end of the power cable into the nearest power socket (or extension cable) and switch on
the plug.
The digiGate system will now begin to boot up and you will hear the startup tone when it is ready for use.
Note: The digiGate system takes approximately 2 minutes to fully boot up.
